Spaulding Bests Lake Region in Boys Hoops

MIKE OLMSTEAD Sports Editor

BARRE–The Lake Region Rangers traveled to take on the Crimson Tide of Spaulding last week.

It would be a tough go of it for the boys from Orleans County, as the host Tide was able to put up 22 points to the Rangers’ 7 in the first quarter and never looked back, winning the game by the score of 72-31.

The Rangers would be kept in single digits for three out of the four quarters.

The third quarter would be their highest offensive output, as Carter Montgomery (6), Connor Ulrich (5), Charlie Thompson (2), and Logan Perkins (2) combined to score 15 points.

Montgomery led the Rangers with a teamhigh 11 points.

Thompson finished the game with 8 points. Now standing at 0-6, the Rangers were supposed to play Lyndon on Wednesday, but that game has been moved to February 7th.

Instead they will have all week to prepare for their rematch against U-32 on Friday.

Opening tip is set for 7:00.
